Once admitted, there are several steps that must be completed in order to enroll in classes. The earlier you apply and complete the necessary steps to enroll, the more course options will be available to you. Applicants offered admission must complete the following steps to enroll in classes:

  1. Pay the enrollment deposit online to secure your spot.
  2. Complete the online orientation (on-campus students only).
  3. Schedule an appointment (in-person or via phone) with an ECU Academic Advisor who will review your transcript(s), recommend appropriate coursework, and provide your registration code.
  4. Register for courses according to the date provided by your ECU Advisor.
  5. ECU’s “Pirate Introduction to ECU Registration” (PIER) provides guides for your first semester schedule and directs you through steps to begin your journey.

Verify your residency (NC residents only)

If you wish to claim in-state residency for tuition purposes, please make sure to complete the Residency Determination Service (RDS) process at NCresidency.org. You will need to provide us with your Residency Certification Number (RCN) either on the application as you are applying, or later via your Navigator account.
