New Student Orientation Update

A Message from the Office of Student Transitions

East Carolina University and the Office of Student Transitions recognize that we are in uncharted waters due to COVID-19 and that has created uncertainty for so many of you. During this time, the Office of Student Transitions (OST) remains committed to providing a coordinated, comprehensive approach to enhancing student success; providing services that will enhance the academic efficiency, effectiveness, and independence of our students; and providing the necessary supports for families required for improving student satisfaction, academic success, and student retention.

A significant part of OST’s mission relates to New Student Orientation, which occurs during the summer months. In accordance with the UNC System’s decision to move all summer classes online, ECU has made the difficult decision to move New Student Orientation to a virtual format. We are disappointed that we are unable to host our new Pirates and family members on our beautiful campus this summer. However, we are still committed to assisting you through this transition. Note! These programs are not canceled and will pivot to virtual formats.

ECU will communicate the new plans for Orientation via email to students in the coming weeks. All updates about orientation will be sent to your ECU email address, which can be accessed via ECU Pirate Port. Information will also be shared online at orientation.ecu.edu.

We look forward to welcoming you to Pirate Nation!
