Fall Open House
Mark your calendars for October 27th because East Carolina University’s annual Fall Open House is not an event you’re going to want to miss! Open House is a great opportunity for prospective freshman, transfer students and their families to tour campus, visit residence halls, learn about student life, visit with academic departments and get all of your admissions questions answered. Below are a few tips and reminders to help you plan your visit to ECU.
Planing Tools
To help you plan your day, you have two options. There is a free ECU Guides app that can easily be downloaded to your smart phone which includes a guide titled “ECU Fall Open House 2018”. It includes parking info, the entire schedule for the day, and a map of campus!
Parking
All Fall Open House attendees are to park in the Gold Parking Lot, located next to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. The address to plug into your GPS is 1 Ficklen Drive, Greenville, NC 27858. ECU Transit will provide a shuttle to Main Campus beginning at 7:30am and the event begins at 8am.
Lunch
Both Todd and West End dining hall will have a special lunch rate of $7.50 starting at 11am and ending around 2pm. Dining Halls and other on-campus eateries accept cash and credit but we recommend buying pre-purchased tickets here to save you time! If you pre-purchase meal tickets online, please bring your printed receipt from the website as proof of purchase. (Pro Tip: Todd Dining Hall located on College Hill is typically much less crowded than West End Dining Hall.) Pirate Market POD and Wright Place will also be open throughout the day.
Plan Your Day out and be Comfortable!
Campus is going to be buzzing on the 27th so being prepared will help you from feeling overwhelmed. Spend time looking at the schedules mentioned before and prioritize the events most important to you. There are tons of options and many concurrent activities so we recommend planning your own personal schedule ahead of time. It’s also going to be a day full of walking and exploring so we recommend wearing your comfy shoes and clothes.
Explore Greenville!
After you’ve taken full advantage of all the things Open House has to offer, make your way to Uptown Greenville and explore our charming college town. Uptown Greenville has tons of fun, unique places to shop and eat!
