Mary Crawford, International Admissions Counselor
Mary is originally from St. Petersburg, Florida, and has a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages. After spending nearly a decade working abroad with students in China and Japan, Mary’s passion for working with international students brought her to ECU’s Office of Global Affairs as an International Admissions Counselor in 2022.
Mary believes studying abroad is an invaluable opportunity that can allow students to grow their understanding of cultures around the world as well as their own. She carries the idea that international study brings students to face new challenges that can result in a stronger sense of independence and self while improving their ability to adapt and communicate.
She understands that applying for international study can be intimidating and desires to make your experience as comfortable as possible. The international admissions team strives to make the application, admission, and student visa processes as clear and easy to navigate as possible through direct, concise, and accessible communication of options, requirements, and actionable steps.
The Office of Global Affairs also manages student visas, arriving into the US, new international student orientation, international student advising during your time at ECU, student services such as career preparation, and your options in applying for jobs after graduation.
