East Carolina University recognizes the important role community college advisors have in guiding students through their transition to a four-year institution. We hope this information will be useful as you assist students applying to ECU.
ECU Credit Connector
ECU is making transferring easier with the new ECU Credit Connector! Students can add previously earned college credit and see an unofficial evaluation of how many credits will transfer to ECU.

Transfer Requirements
- Minimum 24 hours of transferable college-level coursework (complete or in progress)
- Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA for all college-level coursework attempted
All transfer students must:
- Submit an online application.
- Pay the $75 nonrefundable application fee.
- Submit ALL official transcripts from each college, technical institute, or university attended. Official electronic transcripts from most transcript services are accepted. Otherwise, please have all official documents sent in a sealed/signed envelope.

Degree Explorer
We have a valuable tool that can help you and your students discover more about ECU’s vast degree offering. Degree Explorer provides quick access to the following information for each degree program:
- The courses students in that program will take
- What makes that particular degree special at ECU
- Career opportunities the degree could unlock for graduates

The Honors College for Transfer Students
Do you have high achieving students who may be interested in the Honors College at East Carolina University? Transfer students accepted into the Honors College will receive a scholarship valued at $1,250 per semester for five semesters, among other benefits.
Students must meet the following eligibility criteria to receive an invitation to apply:
- Apply to ECU no later than December 8. A completed application includes transcripts from all institutions attended.
- Meet the following minimum criteria:
- 24 credit hours completed post-high school
- 3.5 cumulative GPA from all institutions
- Last institution attended must be a N.C. Community College
- Entering in fall term as a campus-based student

ECU Counselor Advisory Committee
The Counselor Advisory Committee consists of a group of high school counselors and transfer advisors from throughout North Carolina who have been identified as going above expectations with assisting students in the college search process.
Members of the CAC have the opportunity to learn about ECU’s academic colleges, student services, financial aid and scholarships, as well as to provide our office with critical feedback from their students. If you would like additional information about the CAC or are interesting in joining, please contact Patti Clements at clementsp15@ecu.edu.

ECU offers opportunities for you to join fellow advisors and learn more about our great university. At our receptions held across North Carolina, you will gain valuable insights into ECU’s degree programs and the admissions process. It’s a great chance to connect with admissions staff and gather information to assist your students. Watch for your invitation; events are held annually.
