Readmission
Students who previously enrolled at ECU as a degree-seeking student and discontinued their enrollment for any reason and any length of time must apply for readmission. To get started, review the admission guidelines, policies, and deadline dates below.
Readmission Requirements
All readmit students must:
- Submit an online application
- Pay the $35 nonrefundable application fee at the time of application
- If any college coursework was attempted since last being enrolled at ECU, official transcripts from each individual college/university attended must be submitted. The transcript(s) must indicate that a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher has been earned by the final transcripts deadline noted below. Transfer credits will be evaluated according to university policy. Official transcripts from most transcript services are accepted. Otherwise please have all official documents sent in a sealed/signed envelope.

Following Suspension
Students must apply for readmission to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions prior to the application deadline. Eligibility to apply for readmission after suspension does not guarantee acceptance, as the university must adhere to enrollment restrictions.

Forgiveness Policy
Former East Carolina University students who have not been enrolled at ECU for a minimum of two consecutive academic years (four semesters, summer sessions excluded) may request readmission under the Forgiveness Policy. The Registrar’s Office will automatically apply the forgiveness policy to eligible students. Students who have been enrolled at another regionally accredited college or university since their last enrollment at East Carolina University must submit to the Office of Admissions official transcripts indicating that a minimum cumulative 2.0 average has been earned in all transferable courses attempted by the final transcripts deadline noted below.
