Undergraduate Certificates

ECU’s Undergraduate Certificates allow non-degree seeking students access to specialized courses that yield certification to advance your career. Get a competitive edge and discover new skills in our specific four-to-five course programs.

Students in these courses earn college credit, but these certificates are not equivalent to a college degree. While most of these certificates are earned by students who are also enrolled in a degree program at ECU, the university does offer several direct-entry undergraduate certificates that can be earned as a standalone credential by non-degree seeking students.

Direct- Entry Undergraduate Certificates

  • Instructional Systems Design in Adult Education* Maternal and Child Health (https://hhp.ecu.edu/academic_programs/)

*Students interested in this topic who have already earned an undergraduate degree should consider the advanced graduate certificate offered by the Graduate School.

Current ECU students should contact their advisor to add one of these certificates.

IMPORTANT

Students seeking to enroll in an ECU degree program and earn an additional certificate should apply for admission using one of our standard applications. The information below only applies to non-degree seeking students.

Financial aid is not available through the university for non-degree students enrolling in a standalone undergraduate certificate.

Students enrolled in a standalone certificate program earn college credit that can be applied to an undergraduate degree if the student applies and is accepted to a degree program.
